“People want to create an image of what a destination might look like and they want to dream about their next trip. As social influencers we try to inspire others by showing the beauty of every place in an authentic and inspiring way.”
Yentl Keuppens wrote several books about her life as a fashion blogger:
Tell us about how you started blogging?
I always had a passion for fashion, ever since I was a little kid. But I started focussing on creating beautiful content through school as one of the things I studied with ‘Color and Style’. I started blogging about 7 years ago. It started off as a school project but rapidly became a hobby and after a few years I managed to make it a full-time gig.
Why do you enjoy working with companies and how do you choose your collaborations, any criteria?
I love working with companies with whom I have a certain connection. It’s quite easy to tell whether a collaboration feels good or not, you need to follow your gut feeling. I choose collaborations based on what I like, this allows you to create content which you fully support.
You are launching your new book "On just my own line". What is the book about?
The book is all about being online and what it's like to being a full-time content creator/blogger and how I managed to do so. In addition to this I also wanted to share some know-how on how collaborations work. Many brands and colleagues share their story and how they experience working with social influencers.
Do you have any lessons from past failures others could learn from?
When collaborating with clients, make sure to have an agreement in place in terms of what the client expects from you and what you expect from them in return. Solid and well articulated agreements make good friends, which is something The Cirqle takes care of automatically.
What social trends are you seeing unfold for 2019?
A trend I see is that e-commerce through Instagram will become more and more important.
